Frequently Asked Questions

The Pantry

  • All of our pantry products (granolas and crisps) are made in my home kitchen in Encino, CA (part of Los Angeles) under a Cottage Food Operation (CFO) permit issued by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. As part of this permit, my kitchen has been inspected and approved by a health inspector to ensure it meets food safety standards.

  • Yes. Our granolas and oat & seed crisps are registered organic with the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA). We use all organic ingredients in all of our recipes, with only a small exception for one spice in the za’atar seasoning blend.

  • We keep it simple and thoughtful: oats, seeds, nuts, fruits, herbs, and natural sweeteners like maple syrup or honey. Our granolas are made with avocado oil, and our crisps are made with olive oil. We’re proud to use real, kitchen-cupboard ingredients and never use artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives.

  • We use certified gluten-free oats, but our kitchen is not a dedicated gluten-free facility. Our products also contain nuts and seeds and are made in a home kitchen where other allergens may be present. Please review the ingredient list carefully before ordering.

  • Our granolas are sweetened with maple syrup or honey. The Spiced Chocolate Chip and Gingerbread Walnut flavors also include a very small amount of refined sugar from the chocolate chips and crystallized ginger. We use no other refined sugar in any of our products.

  • Both keep best in a cool, dry place in their resealable pouches. Once opened, they’re best enjoyed within about 4 weeks.

  • Our granola flavors change with the seasons to keep things fresh, fun, and reflective of the time of year. Some flavors are here only briefly, while others may carry over if I still have ingredients on hand. The one exception is Organic Spiced Chocolate Chip Granola — our signature blend — which is always available.

The Garden

  • All of my garden produce is grown in my backyard in Encino, where I care for eight raised beds along with fruit trees and vines. While I can’t label it “organic” without certification, everything is grown sustainably using natural methods and harvested by hand in small quantities.

  • Yes! Under California law, we are a Community Food Producer (CFP), which means we can sell produce directly from my backyard garden. We follow state guidelines for safe and sustainable growing, handling, and record-keeping practices. Everything we offerm from herbs to seasonal vegetables to fruit, is grown with care and sold responsibly, straight from the garden to your table.

  • Yes. We recommend washing all produce before eating or cooking, just as you would with any fruits or vegetables from the farmers market. Everything from the garden is harvested with care and handled responsibly, but washing at home ensures it’s ready for your table.

  • The harvest changes with the seasons. Sometimes it’s herbs, leafy greens, or squash, and other times it may be tomatoes, peppers, or fruit from my trees and vines. Because everything is small-scale and seasonal, availability is always limited. New items are listed on the Garden Page when they’re ready, so check back often to see what’s fresh.

Ordering and Delivery

  • Right now, orders can be:

    • Picked up in Encino by appointment (details provided via email after checkout)

    • Delivered locally on select days within a designated area (see below for more information) (Checkout may display “Shipping,” but please know this is always Local Delivery.)

In the future, we may offer pop-up locations where you can shop or pick up pre-orders. If you have a favorite community spot you’d love to see us at, please send us your suggestions!

  • Our pantry products are made in small batches to ensure freshness, with most baked to order. Garden produce is harvested throughout the week — sometimes just-picked to order, and other times from recent harvests — but always offered at peak freshness.

  • At this time, I do not ship. We do delivery to our local area. Checkout will say “shipping,” but please note this is really local delivery.

  • As a small, Encino home-based business, our delivery area is currently limited to a defined stretch of the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles, California — from Studio City to Calabasas, generally within about 2 miles north and south of Ventura Boulevard. This helps us keep deliveries fresh and manageable. If you’re nearby but outside this area, please reach out and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

  • Local delivery is a flat $5 fee on orders under $40 or free on orders $40+. Deliveries are made Thursdays between 11 AM – 3 PM. Porch drop-off is available if you won’t be home.

  • If your order includes fresh produce and you will not be home during delivery, please leave a cooler or tell us a shaded place for drop-off to help keep items fresh. Refrigerate promptly after delivery.

  • Pickup is free and by appointment in Encino. After you place your order, we’ll email you to schedule a convenient time. For security, our exact address is provided once your time is confirmed.

  • Please place orders by Sunday evening for delivery the following Thursday or pickup that week. Orders placed after Sunday may be fulfilled the following week.

  • We accept all major credit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay through our website. Payment is processed securely at checkout.
